Seasonal Allergies!
Suddenly sneezing, eyes watering, but its relentless. Welcome spring flowers, pollen and all else that the winds of mother nature that blow our way.
While I am no doctor or an allergist by any stretch of the imagination, I do see quite a few people with many allergy type reactions.
Seems most of us suffer these days from allergies in one form or another and it does behoove us to seek professional medical attention if they are getting out of hand.
Now since I can only experiment on myself. It has occurred to me that hair washing and pollen, dust etc. are linked.
The trend the last few years, which I have wholeheartedly been a part of, has been to wash our hair less often. To let the oil your hair produces and use them by brushing our hair more frequently to move them through.
While I still am sticking to this theory for the most part, I realized that during allergy season this may be a problem.
As I said, I experimented on myself. I take allergy meds every day, so when they started not working, I was frustrated! Eyes that are crying all damn day and a matching nose are not the most wanted nor attractive look. (especially this last couple of years) Here a few tips to hopefully help with the sneezing, watery eyes etc.
- Wash your hair every day.
- Its recommended to wash your hair at night before bed also to make sure you are not putting the pollen and dust etc. on your pillow and or bedding.
- If you adopt this plan use gentle products when upping your shampoo game.
- If shampoo seems too much try just rinsing.
- Use a light conditioner as heavy products can attract pollen to stick to you more.
I have to tell say the allergy symptoms have gone way down. And unless we get into a bubble likely will not go away completely but it definitely was a huge difference.
Try it! What have you got to lose?
I hope this helps!
